The Centro Volta Environmental Department's main objective is finding innovative and strategic solutions in order to improve, safeguard and recover the quality of the territory and the environment.

The Environmental Department steadily monitors the development of environmental issues, analysing relevant aspects from different point of vies: from the effects on the ecosystem to economic impacts. As a result, it leads interdisciplinary projects and  conferences, for the benefit of Public and local Institutions.   

The Environmental Department promotes initiatives consistent with latest scientific and technological findings as well as with the environmental legislation currently in force, through a continous update and interaction with a network of experts from Italian and foreign Universities and Research Centres.    

The Environmental Department takes care of the dissemination of projects results through press conferences, periodic reports, monographic volumes and conference proceedings.

The Environmental Department cooperates, among others, with Region Lombardy, Province of Como, Como Municipality, Chamber of Commerce of Como, Fondazione Cariplo and Fondazione Provinciale della Comunità Comasca.
