Cultural Activities

Scientific and technological culture is crucial for the development of modern societies, nowadays forced to face increasingly difficult decisions,  even from scientific point of views, like for example issues related to bioethics, environment or consumption of energy resources.

Centro Volta is involved in promoting scientific and technological culture, especially among students, in different ways, such as: editing scientific publications, organizing dissemination events (exhibitions and conferences), planning of specific didactic interventions in cooperation with local schools, preserving historic scientific collections.

Centro Volta takes also part to the national debate on scientific communication.

Since 2003 Centro Volta has also taken care of the cultural organization of "Premio Triennale per la Fisica Francesco Somaini": the prize, entitled to the physicist Francesco Somaini, is the most important award acknowledged in the Italian physics society (SIF, Società Italiana di Fisica).
