Since 2005, the Landau Network-Centro Volta (LNCV) has developed, with the support of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in collaboration with the Iraqi National Academy of Science (INAS) and Iraqi universities, the LNCV Cooperation Program with the Iraqi Academic and Research System aimed to enhance the comprehension of the current Iraqi scenario and to implement human capacity building activities for the valorisation and upgrading of Iraqi human, scientific and professional resources.

Stemming from the activities held in the past three years, and thanks to the support of the Italian MFA (General Direction for Development Cooperation), the LNCV is planning a set of new initiatives addressed to Iraqi professors, researchers and PhD candidates.

The program is articulated in five projects, aimed to favour the updating and the valorisation of different professional profiles through intensive postgraduate and formation courses, to be held in Italy. In detail, these courses are:

  1. Postgraduate Course for Iraqi economists in the framework of the Master in International Relations and Management of ASERI;
  2. Postgraduate Course in vegetal genetics and food security: Maize as a study case;
  3. Postgraduate Course “Electron and Ion Microscopy and Micromanipulation: common principles and advanced methods in applied sciences”;
  4. Postgraduate Course on “Clinical education & health management for the psycho-physical recovery”;
  5. Postgraduate Course in Internet Information Technologies.

In order to participate in the selection process, applicants will have to obtain the written authorization of the Iraqi academic and research institutes they belong to. These institutes will be in charge of submitting the candidate’s profile directly to the LNCV within the deadlines indicated. Only Iraqi academic and research institutes are entitled to select possible candidates and to submit their applications for the courses: independent / autonomous candidatures will not be accepted.
