This international workshop expanded upon the two previous workshop held by LNCV in October 2005 and 2006 on South Asia Security and was focused on three main themes:

Strategic stability, proliferation challenges and the India-Pakistan comprehensive dialogue

South Asia as a “Regional Security Complex”
-
South Asia in the Asian and the Global System
Around 30 international experts, scholars and officials belonging to the LNCV South Asia Network attended the Workshop and discussed the issues above indicated and the case studies presented by Indian and Pakistani experts.
As a natural follow up of this workshop, an international seminar on “Strengthening co-operation and trust in the Hindu Kush region: a role for India and Pakistan” was held in Rome the 2nd of October, organized by the DGAO in collaboration with the SIOI.
