The workshop aimed to analize the current security environment: strategic stability and the meaning of nuclear deterrence in the Asiatic sub-continent and the development of Proliferation Prevention Mechanisms and Nuclear Confidence Security Building Measures (NCSBMs) in order to limit the threat related to the potential escalation of the current regional stalemate.
The workshop also focused on the India – Pakistan comprehensive dialogue, on the Indo-US nuclear agreement and its consequences on the regional scenario and on the potential role of international organizations, regional and international actors in the solution of the current Indo-Pakistani impasse
